Welcome to all of you, old friends and newcomers, to the webinars of the Institut de la Main.
Those of you who have been following our Symposia are aware that, for the first time in more than 30 years, we have not been able to run last year’s Symposium on Elbow Stiffness. It seems like we will not be able to run it in 2021 either.
So, in order to keep in touch and to pursue our scientific goal, which is so important to us, we have decided to launch a series of Webinars.

These interactive webinars will take place once a month, and each of them will be focused on a very specific, sometimes narrow, subject of Hand and Upper Limb Surgery.
The first topics will be:

  • On-Top Plasty, on March 25th (Stéphane GUERO)
  • Kienbock’ Disease : State of the art in 2021, on April 24th (Christophe MATHOULIN)
  • Stiffness after elbow arthroplasty : how to manage?, on May 24th (Anne VIDIL)

We look forward to this new way of communicating with you, until we can meet again.

Caroline Leclercq, President of Institut de la Main

#Surgery on #congenital #hand anomalies can be challenging in severe malformations. #Surgeons should take profit of all available anatomical parts to improve the function and aesthetics of the hand. In some complex cases, the so-called On-Top plasty can be indicated for stabilization, lengthening or fingertip reconstruction. A careful analysis of each deformity is mandatory to choose the best parts of two digits in order to reconstruct a better finger or thumb.

Speakers will share their experiences on pedicled transfers of segments of fingers. Some examples will illustrate how we can really “push the limits”.

  • Digital reconstruction in complex thumb duplications or syndromic hand anomalies.
  • Indication and technical pearls in On-Top plasties.
